Binarisms. 2008
acrylic glass, anaglyph glasses and projection / 10 minute loop
If, as poststructural theory suggest, meaning emerges through differences within language, then this project interrogates that concept from a visual perspective. Binarisms is a digital video installation that explores common binaries within the English language. The cyan and magenta channels are projected from opposing projectors onto a screen in the middle. The dual projections within the installation create a space to contemplate the typographic intersections that emerge from these dualistic pairs.
